Hello,

We're on day 3 of waiting for our extension ( mhkhmbddkmdggbhaaaodilponhnccicb ) to clear "Pending Review".  We've got bug fixes stacking up, some are critical.  What's the best way to update the extension so when the review is done and it gets published it will include all the latest fixes?

On the developer dashboard there's an "upload updated package" button, is that equivalent to unpublishing? The store listing says this "Note: Unpublishing your item will not cancel the review. If you unpublish, you won’t be able to re-submit your item until the current review has been completed."

Thanks!

Hi,

I've actually submitted multiple tickets on this issue over the last 4 days and haven't heard back.

Can you answer this question?

I think there may be a misunderstanding with how review works. When you submit a review, you're effectively handing over a box with a bunch of stuff you want to put on a store shelf. The reviewer will look at the contents of the box, make sure everything's okay, then puts it on the store shelf. You can't modify the contents of the box once you've handed it over.

Similarly there's no way to update a pending review to include the latest code changes. You'll either need to cancel the current review or need to wait for it to complete. Only then can you upload a new zip in order to publish your latest changes.

Hi Simeon,

I appreciate the clarification.

We're now at 7+ days in "Pending Review" and 2 support tickets sent in via https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/contact/developer_support.  No response.   There were no permissions added or any significant changes to our source.  Not sure what triggered the review.

We have a few critical fixes waiting to be published.  Can you give me an idea of how long we'll be stuck in "Pending Review"?  Extension id  mhkhmbddkmdggbhaaaodilponhnccicb

Thank you.

You'll either need to cancel the current review

How can you cancel the current review? I only have the "unpublish" option

Hi guys,

We are also stuck in this same loop at the moment. Please share any update if things change or if you find any way out of this loop.

Lawal

This morning our extension was approved.  It took 8 days.  I immediately published an update with all the bug fixes that have been backed up since the last publish. We're now back in the pending review status.

Is this how the update process is gonna work now?  We haven't changed any permissions, it's just bug fixes. Is it gonna take 8 days to get an update out?

Same boat. Except we're going on over a month. The first time I submitted the minor update, I missed adding a link to our privacy policy.

Can you give me an idea of how long we'll be stuck in "Pending Review"? - Eric

For the vast majority of extensions its less than 2 weeks, and for the majority it's less than 1 week.

How can you cancel the current review? I only have the "unpublish" option - Tommy

There's a point in the review process where you can no longer cancel. I want us to change this so reviews can be canceled at any time.

Is this how the update process is gonna work now? … Is it gonna take 8 days to get an update out? - Eric

That's a realistic possibility.

Same boat. Except we're going on over a month. - Josh

If a review takes >3 weeks it probably slipped through the cracks. Please share your extension ID either here or directly with me and I'll look into it.

Hey Simeon,

It's not quite over 3 weeks, but I think by tomorrow it will be :(. — Any chance you could look into the state of dcgcnpooblobhncpnddnhoendgbnglpn?

Thanks!
