Hi,

I like https://code.google.com/p/chromium/codesearch, but I'm not sure which version of the code it's showing. Perhaps it's a recent release. However, I'm working on an older release, and the code is different than what https://code.google.com/p/chromium/codesearch is showing.

I use csearch/cindex on my local repo, but the web UI is much nicer.

Is it possible to set up something like https://code.google.com/p/chromium/codesearch for my local repo?

Thanks!

I am not sure about the user interface, but I believe the engine itself is open source, either -
Or -

Yes, I believe it is codesearch--since that's in the name, but I am
not 100% sure. I mentioned I was using codesearch (csearch/cindex),
but the web ui is much easier to use because you can click on links to
follow.

The name can be misleading, I think codesearch is or was Kythe, really, but I do not know.

Kythe mentions a web user interface in its readme, so perhaps it does have something usable.

None of those are the codesearch at cs.chromium.org. My understanding is that codesearch is not open source.

I have vague memories that you can append some query parameter to specify the commit hash you're interested in. Given that's true, you could install one of those URL rewriting extensions (or write your own) and add the parameter to every request you make.

Whether linking between files would then still continue to work properly or not is one open question.

I see. That's too bad.
Thanks.
