Dear colleagues,
I have many certificates installed on my PC due to work reasons, and so far I am glad we are evolving from simple and dangerous passwords to certificated based authentication in most government affairs. Nevertheless, there is a problem that bugs me a lot: the certificate selection popup.
In order to improve overall UI/UX, we should implement a better certificate choosing popup, as the one currently implemented does not allow resizing or changing the size via flags or anything similar, which makes people who has many installed certificates job very bothersome. It cannot show a complete list of certificates, only 5-6, and when scrolling down it jumps between certificates, not allowing a natural feel of browsing (compared to free scrolling in a website).
Therefore, I suggest a new interface be designed or implemented in the certificate selection process, or at least, to add a flag or a possibility to resize the certificate selection popup in the mean time as temporary fix.
As an idea, whenever a certificate must be chosen, there could be a 'recents' tab with the latest used ones, or options to show only CN and to display the certificates in a grid arrangement, like if they were apps from the Android launcher, or shortcuts from the Desktop. There could be various suggestions and designs, but I think that any new design will be definitely a improvement to the current one.
Yours faithfully,
