Dear all,

I am a year two chemistry student and I love the chrome os platform as I find it efficient and perfect for everyday uni life I would use my chromebook as my primary device for all my work if there was a web app I could use to draw out molecular structures on like you can use chemdraw to.

I would like with the help of developers as I can not code, to develop an app for chemists to use which allow the drawing of molecules on the app. THis app could even be sold for a small profit, if the developers wish. I hope some people would be interested in helping.

Yours sincerely

Daniel Oliver

I think what the original poster is referring to is an interactive drawer like Chemaxon's Marvin Sketch (http://www.chemaxon.com/products/marvin/marvinsketch/).

Chemaxon has *nix distributions but they are Java based... hence the problem. There is a Javascript based version of Marvin Sketch but it's very sub par and has a poor API... I'm a graduate student in chemical informatics and use a Chromebook. The lack of visualization software for this platform is problematic. I'm debating just switching to Ubuntu since that's what I use at work.
