Feature request: jump to page, go to page with Chrome PDF viewer plugin

There is a fairly old feature request in the Chromium issue tracker asking for a "jump-to-page" facility for the PDF reader plugin.

I'm wondering if anyone reading the discussion group is aware of any action on this feature? Chrome's PDF viewer gives excellent rendering, but navigation in very large PDF is very, very tedious. It would make a huge difference to my viewing habits to have this feature added to Chrome.
