Chrome not seeing certificates on smart card

Under RHEL 8, the few bits of info I can find are that smart card support "just works" via p11-kit. I can see my certificates with p11-kit / p11tool, and Firefox see sand uses them just fine. Chrome doesn't see them at all. What is missing?
