Add a button to the toolbar from the source code

I'm trying to add a button that interacts with various operating system programs, but I'm having a hard time finding examples that I can rely on. Would anyone know how to help me?

I am working on Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS

Assuming you mean the desktop Chrome toolbar, where back/forward/reload is, here is a piece of code that is responsible for those buttons -
