In Firefox, you can reload and iframe by right-clicking the iFrame, and pressing H, then R.

In Internet Explorer we can reload iframes by right-clicking the iFrame and pressing R.

In Chrome, there is no shortcut key, we always have to mouse down to the Reload iFrame menu option.

As much as it could be nice to not have to work with iFrames, there are still us developers out here working on projects that contain iFrames.

Would it be possible to get a shortcut key for this in Chromium like IE and Firefox have to make developers lives a little easier?

Thanks!

One option would be to write an extension for this.

That would be a great option. Any idea if there is a Chrome APi that detects which frame the right click occurred on? And also is there an API for registering hot keys at that point?

You have to use a content script, I believe and monitor the "contextmenu" event and wait for messages from the background/event page.

I am not sure this is very helpful, though, because extensions do not have an option to add hot keys to context menus, I believe.

Anyway, I think adding hot keys for all of the current context menu options is reasonable and if I were you, I would file a feature request on crbug.com for it, if one does not exist already.

By the way, technically, you can use the arrow key to get there (press up twice). You do not have to use the mouse.
