If Chrome uses Skia on both Windows and OSX, why does font rendering looks so different on both systems?

It seems as if Chrome uses ClearType on Windows. On OSX it looks different than Safari so I assume I'm seeing Skia there.

Is there a way to get the same type of rendering/antialiasing on Windows than we have on OSX?

No, what you're asking is not possible. While Skia is used to draw on both OS X and Windows, the font glyphs are still shaped by each platform's text rendering engine (CoreText and ClearType, respectively). That's done so that the fonts render in the style of the platform but the overall rendering path is cross-platform.

Thank for your answer Robert.

If that's the case, how come the rendering in Safari is different than Chrome?

Here you can see a comparison of font rendering at non retina DPI:

The full text rendering stack differs dramatically from Safari, so it is expected that Chrome won't match pixel-for-pixel. There's a bug covering this difference, though: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=581166
