First of all, my Google Chrome is taking up 4GB of disk space...

Secondly, does Chrome really need to keep ALL the previous versions of
Chrome?
Every version is roughtly 140MB... i think we got a problem here.

Also, I tried to delete all the previous version of my Chrome, and it
WILL NOT start.
So I had to restore the files.

I cannot see your images for some reason.

If Chrome keeps a previous version, it is because it failed to delete (perhaps the folders are locked), or because Chrome was not restarted (Click on the Wrench menu-->Exit and start Chrome after a minute), or because it failed to upgrade for some strange reason.
What is your Chrome version? try to only delete all of the versions that are older than the version Wrench-->About Google Chrome shows.

Chrome always restart itself everytime i try to update it.
So after playing with it last night, this is what i found.

Right now i'm using 10.0.648.127, and for some reason, Chrome is still
using one of the file inside 7.0.517.36, chrome_plugins_file.xml

I am able to delete all over versions except that folder. Must be a
bug with the application.

I also see the exactly same thing, it's a little hard and not safe to delete order versions.

Wow, that sounds really weird.

Just to narrow down the problem, can you use a new temporary profile while renaming that XML?

Using a new temporary profile goes like this -
Right click on your Chrome shortcut icon-->Properties-->Append this to the "Target" field -
--user-data-dir="%TEMP%\CleanProfile"
(So it would look similar to this -
...Application\chrome.exe" --user-data-dir="%TEMP%\CleanProfile")
Click on OK.

Rename that XML file (or the folder) and start Chrome with that modified shortcut icon.

If Chrome start, try to see if that file name is mentioned within the registry, or within the Preferences file within your profile folder.

If Chrome does not start, can you search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it, or if you cannot find one, file a new issue at new.crbug.com?
(If you do find one, please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.)

Thank you.

(When done, just remove what you appended from the shortcut to get your profile back)
