There's a well known issue with all Chromium based browsers on Linux tablets that use Wayland. The system OSK/On Screen Keyboard/Virtual Keyboard doesn't show when focus is granted to an input field. I think the problem is common across desktop environments, but I have only confirmed it using Gnome (currently Fedora 44).

I gather the issues is related to the text_input_v3 protocol, but when I search for information I see a lot of chatter in a lot of different places and a fair bit of finger pointing, but nothing that gives me any sense of what the core problem is, whether it's being worked, and whether there is any expected timeline to resolve it.

If someone knows the answer, that would be great, however what I'm primarily looking for is where to go for authoritative information.

Thanks!
