Refused to display 'https://portal.office.com/SuiteServiceProxy.aspx?upn=kenneth.farrell%40frananklinu.sharepoint.com%2Fsites%2Fbpa%2Ffw%2FSitePages%2FHome.aspx&Silent=1' in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'SAMEORIGIN'.

Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'DOMWindow': The target origin provided ('https://portal.office.com') does not match the recipient window's origin ('null').

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Did you find a fix or workaround for this? I have the same issue when using Chrome on a MAC to access SharePoint online.

Thanks

Does it work in Internet Explorer 11 (or Edge)?
Those are pretty standard warnings/errors that should happen there as well (unless different code is served to them).

Anyway, this is not the right place for such questions. You can ask this as stackoverflow.com, or find a web developer that can help you, as this is probably a code related issue.

Yes, it does work in IE11, Safari. It works ever on Chrome in Windows.

Issue is specific to Chrome on Mac.

Thanks

Sounds pretty weird. Do you have a URL to share so I can try and reproduce it?

Sure, here you go.

I sent you an invite to phis...@gmail.com

On this page if you click the SharePoint logo you should see the errors on page using F12 in Chrome on Mac OS.

Thanks

Beside the error - is anything wrong with the page?

On Windows (no macOS here, sorry), I get a different exception -
Home.aspx:743 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'href' of null

Also, on Windows, I do not see any request that goes to portal.office.com. It might be user-specific.

your access works differently since i allowed anonymous access for your gmail account.

for users that authenticate to portal.office.com using a work/school account they would see that traffic.

The SharePoint site URL ends in sharepoint.com

The CDN referenced could also be an issue apart from portal.office.com.

Seems to be a CORS issue for Chrome on Mac. What do you think?

The warnings/errors are pretty clear to me, yes. Without reproducing (so I need the right account), it is impossible for me to tell whether this is a browser issue or a website issue (though I lean much towards the latter).

You will need to debug the code and see if it goes through the same code path on Windows and on macOS (and where the values differ).

One thing that comes to mind -
Perhaps you designated some hosts as "local intranet" or via group policy on Windows, which makes Chrome authenticate to them automatically (when asked) using NTLM/Kerberos.
If you did not enable that in Chrome for macOS (I believe the only way to do it is via group policy), Chrome will not authenticate and perhaps those hosts return different responses to unauthenticated users.

(Back to the public group, I removed the credentials you mentioned)
You never answered my question - is anything actually broken, or do you just do not like seeing errors?

I get the following errors on Windows -

It is not a website issue since it renders fine in all browsers on Windows OS and Safari on Mac.

Errors are seen on the page only in Chrome on Mac OS.

Let me get you an account.

Thanks

Well, I do not have macOS, so I cannot help you further here.
You can use crbug.com to report it.

This issue is resolved and was not a bug. It was some Java script issue.

Thanks
