Hi Chromium team,

I’d like to suggest a small but impactful UI enhancement for the downloads dropdown or shelf

Currently, users can right-click a completed download to open the file or show it in the system folder (As seen in the attached image). I believe many users—myself included—would benefit from an additional right-click menu option: “Copy file path.” This would copy the full local path (e.g., C:\Users\user\Downloads\filename.extension) of the downloaded file to the clipboard.

This feature would streamline workflows for developers, power users, and others who frequently need to reference file paths for scripting, documentation, or integration with other tools. It’s a common quality-of-life option found in many file explorers and development environments.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Best regards,
Yathharthha Kaushal

Hi Chromium team,

I would like to add to the list of user types that Yathharthha suggested that would benefit from this suggested functionality.

It would also help regular/less technical users that are experimenting with AI tools where they would like to upload a file (image, PDF etc.) from the internet to an AI tool for researching the contained contents. The number of users that are using AI tools is increasing rapidly.

For implementation, I would suggest having a clickable icon (with an info tip of "Copy local file path to clipboard" or similar), alongside the folder and trash icons to the right each item in Downloads popup view.  This would mean even less clicks for the user.

Thanks for your time and consideration.
