I'm having a weird issue that I'm hoping someone can debug involving an opensource project called turn.js (page turning effect).  Its hosted on github (I'm not the maintainer - someone else's project).  Demo is on turnjs.com

1 - I primarily use Linux, so below assumed Linux unless otherwise stated
2 - demo works under Mozilla
3 - demo on my Android phone
4 - demo does not work under Midori (another WebKit browser).
5 - demo works under Chrome on my parents Window machine

turnjs.com does not work on Chrome on my Linux desktop

It seems to be how the system is recognizing mouse events.  It adds a "hover" class when it detects that the mouse is over the thumbnails, but its not detecting this at all.  Something in how Webkit tracks input events in Linux differs from Windows.  And I tested my mouse, my trackpad, my touchscreen, and my graphics tablet ... its not seeing any of them.  Normal links and *:hover work.
