Bad scrollbars on Linux in v115 due to expired flag "overlay scrollbars"

On Linux (Gnome 44), Chrome/Chromium's default scrollbars don't match the OS-native scrollbar styles. This leads to some terrible and often unusable UIs on some websites (see image below). Before v115, it was possible to force-enable the "overlay-scrollbars" flag which fixed this problem. But it looks like this flag expired with v114 and now Chromium is back to having broken scrollbars again.

Is there any way to fix this in browser settings or new flags? Or maybe a Gnome system setting everyone else knows about but I somehow overlooked? From the very basic digging I've done to understand this flag, it was intended to temporarily allow disabling a ChromeOS behavior but (probably unintentionally) also impacts Linux where enabling this flag is basically a requirement for a functioning browser.
