flash wmode direct prevent html overlay with chrome

Using the wmode="direct" in flash 11 (needed to enable the context3D)
prevent overlay on flash of html elements in chrome. Overlay is still
possible in Safari and Firefox for this wmode.
Is this a bug, an unspecified feature ?
Flash version: 11.0.1.152
OS: MacOSX 10.6.8
Safari 5.1.1
Firefox: 7.0.1
Chrome:15.0.874.102
