In the Elements panel, I can click on the magnifying glass icon to
inspect an element, and on selection, it can show me details about
that element. However, if I don't use the magnifying glass icon to
inspect an element, and instead decide to just navigate to an element
in the Elements panel by clicking on it, I don't view the same details
- specifically, the event listeners do not show. The same also happens
when I right click on an element and choose to inspect it from the
dropdown menu.

For example, on the page [ http://closure-library.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/closure/goog/demos/hovercard.html
], if I select the first span for Tom Smith by just clicking on the
element's tag in the elements panel, no event listeners show. If I now
click the magnifying glass, and choose the same element, it still
doesn't show - although it really should. If I now click the
magnifying glass and choose an element that is not currently selected
in the elements panel, then it will show the event listeners
correctly.

Is this the intended behaviour? Because I find it counter intuitive
and believe it to be a bug. I expect it to show me any event listeners
registered with the element however I select the element for
inspection.

Thanks,

James

Confirmed. I believe it is a regression.
Search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue at new.crbug.com.

Thank you.

Thanks PhistucK,

I couldn't find an exactly related issue, and so posted a new issue
[ http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=63299 ].

Cheers,

James
