Default Browser for User in Linux

Hi,  only the System-Wide works. That's bad. In Debian like:   update-alternatives --config gnome-www-browser  (as root)

The /usr/lib/chromium/master_preferences has no influence on any  Startup Messages

Also missing  a No Thanks Button for default Browser question. And he has to remeber as user.

And in Settings also, i miss a "Don't ask for Default Checkbox".

That's a little bit badly.  Please make it abel to use in user mode level only. Not by root settings. Linux like i say.

What i love, is faster startup then firefox. And firefox maka a big lag time for the Startepage, i can long no start to typwrite something. Here in is chromium mutch better.

If I get your message right there are a few things that doesn't work for you on Linux:

1. Setting Chrome as a default browser on a per user base. This seems like something that is quite specific to the different flavors of Linux out there. But maybe it's worth having it documented somewhere for the major ones.

2. master_preferences doesn't work for you. Can you please share what are you trying to set in your master_prefs file and if any of it works or if none of your settings there work?

3. The default browser prompt will not reappear if you cancel it once so this should not be an issue unless you are starting with a fresh profile each time.
