Howdy.

I very happily use Chrome and the developer tools while doing my web
development. Recently I realized how much I like the font used in the
developer panel (elements, resources, scripts, etc.). However, I
cannot figure out what font that is. I would like to use it in my
IDE, but I don't know the name.

Anyone know?

Thanks much!

Open the devtools, and then hit the devtools shortcut (cmd-opt-i)
_again_ to inspect the devtools window itself (devtools mustn't be
docked for this to work). Now you can look at the font-family used in
devtools. On mac, it's apparently "font-family: 'Lucida Grande',
sans-serif".

Nico,

Thanks for the tip. I checked it out, and sure enough it says "Lucida
Grande", sans-serif;

The font I'm looking for is on my PC, and since I don't have Lucida
Grande, I assume it's using whatever Windows chooses as sans-serif.
Still, I can't tell which one that is!

Here's a link to an image of the text. Note the lower case a and
lower case g. They are distinctive. In general I find the font very
pleasant for code, and I wish I could use it everywhere!

Thanks.

Found it, I think. It's "Consolas" on Windows 7.

Yes, that's Consolas. BTW, you can see that by expanding 'Computed
styles' on the right and checking 'font-family' there.
