While I understand this is not a Chrome mail list, I didn't find anywhere else to discuss this so here we are.

Practically the issue is, that Chrome has decided to install PWA versions of Sheets, Docs, YouTube, Slides, Google Drive and Gmail without any sort of user confirmation or indication it will do so. It doesn't do it on every install, but it has done so for a few of our users. Me included.

This is a suboptimal thing to happen in enterprise context. Is there any way to disable this behaviour and mass uninstall these PWAs for everyone?

I believe this is https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1476987. This wasn't intentional behavior and a fix has rolled out to prevent this from happening in the future. The bug mentions some suggested mitigation strategies as well.

Thanks for the link, its really helpful! I shall remember to query the bug database in the future if issues arise before shooting emails to random directions 😄.
