Hey!

When I share my screen with chromium, I can only choose "Your entire screen" or "Chromium tab", the list under "Application window" is always empty. The actual page doesn't matter, I can enter

    navigator.mediaDevices.getDisplayMedia()

in a newly created tab's console and the problem shows. This is the only similar report I could find online:

Does somebody have an idea why this could be happening or how I could debug it further? Should I file a bug?

Thanks,
Moritz

You can search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue using the "New issue" link on the same page.
Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.

You can reply with a link to the found or created issue and might get triaged (and fixed) faster.

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, PhistucK!

I am hesitant to file a bug because the problem is the same with firefox. I'm on arch linux with cinnamon. The problem doesn't surface with gnome3 on the same machine. But it DOES surface with firefox. It also doesn't surface on a different arch linux box with chromium. I realize its probably some configuration problem. I hoped to find out why chromium doesn't pick up the windows but its not really a bug, I guess.

I searched crbug.com and this could be related:

What do you think?

I think it might be worth filing an issue anyway. In the best case, you found a bug and they will fix it and in the worst case, they might help you understand why windows do not show up for you, which configuration is missing (what Chrome/Chromium is looking for).
