Custom DNS Setting

I need a feature to have Chromium/Chrome use a custom DNS server.

Why not use the system network DNS settings?
Because I need the system DNS server for Intranet DNS.  But for public Internet browsing I want to use a custom DNS server.

The use case is not really clear. do you have an intranet which has name collisions with public TLDs? 

It really sounds like you want a proxy in your intranet.
