For a month now I am unable to launch Cognos WorkSpace Advanced or Cognos Report Studio in the latest version of Chrome and get the Aw Snap error.
I tried launching incognito with the same results.
I downloaded Chrome 48 dev  off file hippo a week ago which temporarily fixed this issue then a week later I could not get to any external sites via chrome and would get the error: " The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable".
Below is a capture using Fiddler:

<html>

<head>

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"/>

<title>Error 404 Not Found</title>

</head>

<body><h2>HTTP ERROR 404</h2>

<p>Problem accessing /favicon.ico. Reason:

<pre>    Not Found</pre></p><hr />

</body>

</html>

And I get this when trying to access https://federation.processmap.com  (URL /flavicon.ico)

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<head>

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"/>

<title>404 - File or directory not found.</title>

<style type="text/css">

<!--

body{margin:0;font-size:.7em;font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;background:#EEEEEE;}

fieldset{padding:0 15px 10px 15px;}

h1{font-size:2.4em;margin:0;color:#FFF;}

h2{font-size:1.7em;margin:0;color:#CC0000;}

h3{font-size:1.2em;margin:10px 0 0 0;color:#000000;}

#header{width:96%;margin:0 0 0 0;padding:6px 2% 6px 2%;font-family:"trebuchet MS", Verdana, sans-serif;color:#FFF;

background-color:#555555;}

#content{margin:0 0 0 2%;position:relative;}

.content-container{background:#FFF;width:96%;margin-top:8px;padding:10px;position:relative;}

-->

</style>

</head>

<body>

<div id="header"><h1>Server Error</h1></div>

<div id="content">

<div class="content-container"><fieldset>

  <h2>404 - File or directory not found.</h2>

  <h3>The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.</h3>

</fieldset></div>

</div>

</body>

</html>

I restored Chrome back to Version 46 and I no longer get the 404 errors but am back to the aw snap error when launching Cognos Report Studio and Advanced Workspace.

Thanks,  Melissa

I guess you are using a proxy server (a corporate proxy server) which leads you to the 404 error.

Regarding "Aw, snap!" error, I need access to the exact URL in order to reproduce. Otherwise, if you manage to save the page (using another browser maybe) and open it in Chrome and the issue reproduces, that can help (you will need to attach the saved page so I could take a look).

You can search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue using the "New issue" link on the same page.
Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.

You can reply with a link to the found or created issue and might get triaged (and fixed) faster.

Thank you.
