Chromium download to wrong folder

Hi:
 
Despite that chrome://settings/ is sat to--  Downloads: Location: /home/xxx/Downloads
Downloaded files are located at : /home/xxx/Desktop
 
Update: purge and reinstall has resulted in Chromium does not lunch .  via  :~$ sudo apt install -y chromium-browser

  :~$ whereis chromium-browser

chromium-browser: /usr/bin/chromium-browser /usr/lib/chromium-browser /etc/chromium-browser /usr/share/chromium-browser /usr/share/man/man1/chromium-browser.1.gz

 OS:
 ~$ uname -a
Linux alaa-HP-Pavilion-dv2700-Notebook-PC 4.10.0-42-generic #46-Ubuntu SMP Mon Dec 4 14:36:05 UTC 2017 i686 athlon i686 GNU/Linux
 
Chromium: Version 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) Built on Ubuntu , running on Ubuntu 17.04 (32-bit)

Do I need to reinstall Chromium?  Chromium: Version 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) Built on Ubuntu , running on Ubuntu 17.04 (32-bit)
