Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no way to change the installation folder of Google Chrome.
It installs it in your Windows profile directory ("C:\Users\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome" or "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome").

However, if you install Chrome through Google Pack, it will install it into "c:\Program Files\Google\Chrome", if I am not mistaking (or something around this folder, but surely in "Program Files").
Could that be better for you?

(This information is only true for Windows. I do not know how things are for Linux or Macintosh.)

One issue has been very troubled
by that, when installed chrome why not choose the installation path. (In
China, this is a criticism, but when I tell close friends can go to svn
download "chrome-win32" folder such as free installation, we installed
on the change this way.) The installation path problems, which I has
been one of great concern. How do you see?

Installation path of the issues mentioned, Google will have to refer the client product. This is a long story. Google had to mention the client product (Google Input, Google Earth, Picasa ....), if Picasa can only choose the installation path. Chromium used to extract the course after the "chrome-win32" installation, is also a good choice. You can put "chrome-win32" folder on this anywhere, from the path to the software category. But in China the Internet, in particular, the client product. Can not choose the installation path, it is a bad design. I do not know how to see? (Please forgive me I have to seize this topic link, because I am very concerned about the design, friends want to know is how other countries look at this issue. ^_^)

It was a little disturbing at first, but I do not mind anymore.
