Hi all. Im not sure if I am posting this in the right place.
Are there any plans to introduce support for web workers in Android Apps? Is there a roadmap or timeframe for this happening?
Context:
Im a hobbyist who makes simple 2D games in Construct 3. Construct 3 can export games to html5 and build Android Apps using Cordova.
Construct3 has the option to use web workers. With web worker mode enabled, the exported game's runtime is hosted in a web worker off the main thread. This gives performance improvements, mainly it helps prevent jankiness.
But a problem exists that it only works for html5 games. The Construct 3 devs have noted that web worker mode is NOT supported in Android Apps. Here is the quote by Ashley the C3 developer from this blog post:
worker mode is "...not yet supported in Android apps or non-Chromium browsers yet, but hopefully those will all follow in due course."Performance Isolation for HMTL5 Games with Web WorkersSo I'm hoping to get more information about this. Are there any plans to have support for web workers included in Android Apps? How can I communicate with relevant devs to advocate for this?
Thanks. I hope its clear what Im talking about.
