I have a form that Chrome is auto filling the credit card expiration dates in the wrong fields. It assumes certain fields are the expiration date when it's not.
I have the field names and autofill set as they suggest. (https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2015/06/checkout-faster-with-autofill#an_example_of_a_payment_form) Any way to prevent this? It's causing alot of people to get charged the wrong amount on their credit cards.

I put up a test page so you can see/replicate. To replicate, don't enter anything in the amount field and use Chromes auto feature to enter your credit card number. You will see the "Sample Item #1 Amount" field gets entered with the expiration month info.

Looks like a proper bug!
You can search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue using the "New issue" link on the same page.
Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.

You can reply with a link to the found or created issue and might get triaged (and fixed) faster.

Thank you.

Thanks. I filed a bug.
It seems there was a similar issue with unoted.com - but that was with the phone field.

Mentioning this information in the created issue would be helpful as well (and mentioning a link to the created issue here would also be :)).

Good idea :-)

And I had a typo earlier, the other issue is at united.com (not unoted.com ! )

Thanks again!

While I wait for a response on the bug, I must figure out a way to prevent the autofill on my pages as its causing a huge issue. Chrome ignores my autocomplete settings - any way I can force chrome NOT to auto fill credit card infomation?

Also, How long should I expect it to take for someone to look into this as a chrome bug? Haven't seen much movement and wondering if this is typical.

Since it was a holiday season, things can take a while (and it depends on the priority) before people go through their backlogs (hopefully, this component has an owner).

Does autocomplete="off" on the field help? Otherwise, does it help on the form (obviously, any automatic completion would be off then)?

autocomplete="off" is being ignored by chrome  (both if I add it to the field or the form).
From what I read online, it seems autocomplete only effects regular address type fields but not the credit card autofill.

Hopefully it's just a backlog from the holidays...

I still have not seen any updates for the bug I posted, what is the normal approach for this? https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=677023&can=2&start=0&num=100&

In any case, it's causing alot of headache with many incorrect orders coming through. Is there any way to completely block the credit card from auto-completing on this form?
I tried autocomplete="off" but it is being ignored by chrome  (both if I add it to the field or the whole form).

Any help to prevent this issue would be appreciated !
