Hi!

How can I disable this "Chrome is out of date" message from appearing?

This machine will be offline, so it will be unable to update and because of this we need for it to not appear. So updating messages such as this are not accepted.

P.D. This machine is not joined to an Active Directory Windows Domain so the solutions in the following link do not work:
We have also done what is shown in this topic, but it does not work either:

Best Regards and hope you can help me out.

First, you will want to update Chrome by opening chrome://chrome and relaunching when prompted. Then, once the computer is offline, if Chrome was up to date at the time it was last online, it should not display alerts about being outdated. However, if you have disabled automatic updates, which is a very important feature to ensure Chrome continues to be fast, secure, and stable, you may continue to receive alerts about automatic updates being disabled. Why are automatic updates disabled?

I wonder if the "--check-for-update-interval=0" command line flag would work? If not, I think you'll need to set the machine up with Active Directory. It's intentionally difficult to keep Chrome from updating because the same mechanisms are abused by malware. https://crbug.com/514827 might have some relevant info too.

Automatic updates are going to be disabled as the machine is going to be offline at all times, the team does not want that the user gets this pop up message as anyways they will be unable to update. Pretty much not showing what it cannot be done by the user. And the product owner really wants to get this out ASAP.

Is there any way to stop showing the message? We know that setting the machine time to one year ago works, but that is not a proper way to solve the issue.

Best Regards

From the discussion on the bug I linked, it sounds like active directory is the correct way to achieve this. It's how you signal to Chrome that the machine is managed by an admin who knows what they are doing, and it's not malware that wants to prevent updating.

We can't guarantee an active directory connection as the computer goes into a customer's network. The networks range from sophisticated to simplistic and may or may not have internet access. In the "worst case" scenario, the computer is completely offline and does not have active directory. Do you think there may be a way around this?
