Chrome has been my favorite browser for the past years, however it has
become so problematic in the past month, that I decide to use Firefox
until it is fixed:

This Chrome bug is so annoying that it freezes the entire windows
(every day whenever I leave my computer idle for an hour or so). A
forced restart is needed (Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work -> too slow).
This issue is real. Does the Chrome team aware of this issue?
(I didn't find any reply from the Chrome team on this issue)

If one of my Chrome tab is opening a YouTube video, it freezes far more likely.
To reproduce the freeze, just open many tabs (one of them is Gmail)
and leave it open for hours (usually I lock the screen, but it also
freezes even if I don't lock the screen). When I login again to unlock
the screen, everything freezes (it is noticable when I type in the
password, the * characters shows very slowly).

I tried Chrome again yesterday and updated to the latest version.
The same problem still persist:
- open 7 tabs (including gmail)
- then leave it overnight (lock the screen)
- then in the morning, when you login, the windows freezes and needs restart.
Why no reply on this issue?
Am I sending to the wrong mailing list?
I don't know whether this already filed in crbug or not (tl;dr)

Hi Marc,
Thanks for the reply.
Good to know it's fixed in version 17.
Yes I am using latest version 16.

Several years ago when Chrome was at its infancy, I always use the Beta version.
Until one time, the Beta version has a glitch (I forgot what) that
forced be to downgrade to previous stable version.
However, the downgrade is painful.. the profile mismatch and
everything is broken.
Since then, I never bother install the Beta version anymore... (since
it's only 3-4 months away anyway).
So, I guess I prefer to wait until version 17 becomes stable and auto
upgrade the browser...

I've been using Firefox for the past 2+ months, so I forgot what exact
urls were opened.
I will try reproduce this sometime later tonight and send you the urls.

At first, I thought the other programs that were causing it (I didn't
suspect Chrome).
Then after closing Dropbox, Chrome Desktop Search, etc... It still
hangs... so I know it's Chrome.
Switching to Firefox confirmed it.
However, Firefox 9 still feel sluggish and I'm waiting for Chrome 17
to become stable and switch back to it :)
Thanks!
