Hello,  I don't build chrome personally but I do use the canary build.
I would like to disable them as I like to use Spotify and whenever I press the play/pause button on my keyboard it will start or stop youtube and it is very annoying.
Is there some way I can add a start parameter to chrome to disable this function.  I have looked in 'chrome://settings' and I can't find an option to disable this.

Thank you.

Not that I am aware of but if you are up to a bit of coding, you can make a Chrome extension to hijack the media keys - https://developer.chrome.com/apps/commands

Maybe --disable-media-session-api - but it will be gone at some point, I guess, so do not count on it long-term.

I found the correct chrome flag a while back,  I just forgot to report back.
If anyone wants to disable it too then here is the link:

Sorry for the late reply guys.  :)

Options in chrome://flags are also temporary and get removed once the experiment has concluded. If there are issues with the feature, it would be good to file those as bugs or so. CCing one of the owners of the flag.

As David mentioned, you shouldn't rely on chrome://flags staying in the long run, they are meant to be removed. If you are using macOS, we are using a new API on recent macOS versions starting Chrome 74 (current beta). Same for Windows (8/10), starting with Chrome 75.

Sorry for the late reply.

Well there isn't an option to disable the option in chrome://settings (at the moment)
Do you think CCing would be including a way to disable it in the settings page when the feature gets released to the stable channel?
