chrome extension lifecycle for help

Hello,I want to know How a extension start, launch, update, and destroy.  there are C file, idl file(app_runtime.idl),json file and js file in this part of codes.How they work together? it's really hard to me .can you give me some advice?  Looking forward to hearing your answer.

It is complicated. I'm not aware of the implementation being wholistically documented. I've done work mostly in the area of ProcessManager, using code search you can reach your way out from there. You should already know about Chrome's Multi-process Architecture. When dealing with JS APIs you'll find the implementations in api directories, you can start tracing code from DispatchOnLaunchedEvent.
