Hi,

It seems the code search for chromium-os is dead (http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/source/search). Is this feature no longer supported?

Thanks,
Haixia

While we're on this subject, parts of code search for chromium are constantly in an outdated state and do not open through CS interface.

I am not sure what's wrong. There is a chromeos repo which is synced nightly, tarred up and copied to /home/codesearch-dogfoodcrawler/incoming/chromiumos_internal from where it is supposed to get indexed and available through https://cs.corp.google.com/p#search/&q=package:chromeos Don't know the ball gets dropped...

cheers,
/v

Haixia,

I work on the Google Code team. The short answer to your question is yes, that feature is no longer supported. Google Code Search only works for projects that host their source on Google Code, though we setup a special pipeline for Chromium. (http://cs.chromium.org)

I, along with a couple of other developers, are working on updating the public Google Code Search instance. Hopefully, soon we can have an update-to-date Chromium index with Grok (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTJs-0EInW8) integration available for you on Google Code. Shortly after that will continue adding other special corpora like chromium-os.

If you would like some more information, please contact me privately. This is something we are actively working on.

Cheers,
-Chris

When was it decided to drop this feature? I remember this perfectly functional around August time. It had been an important feature that I relied upon; I normally only work on chromium and only need to occasionally dig into chromium-os so I do not have the latest source tree sync'ed.

Thanks,
Haixia

The code search for Chromium OS has remained broken for the past month. I guess the support is officially discontinued?

I wonder if we should stop advertising the code search link on our public project page (http://code.google.com/p/chromium/: the bottom link on the left that says "Search Chromium OS Code")
