Hi all,

In real world, people often watch the movie and see the movie online comments/friends chat, etc.

So embedded video mode is very common usage now.

It will also benefit the content provider to push information(e.g. advertisement) to user in a smooth way.

Since Chrome is the most widely used browser on Android, I am curious how Chrome support L1 EME video currently.

Besides the hole punching solution, any other solutions to support L1 EME embedded mode?

Thanks

IIRC the short answer to your question is no, for Android at least, because of hardware limitations. Chrome on Android only supports L1 EME when playing videos fullscreen and will force fullscreen mode on the L1 encrypted video if it's being played embedded. David or Min might have a more detailed answer.

Sorry, ignore this answer. Seems like Ignacio answered an identical thread already and CCed relevant people.
