Anyone else had this problem? Can't find d3dx9.h while compiling
gl_implementation.cc?

thanks,

Besides installing Direct X, you'll need to follow the instructions in
http://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/build-instructions-windows
to setup environment.

I notice in common.gypi we cause Additional Library Directories of

..\third_party\platformsdk_win7\files\Lib;..\third_party\directxsdk\files\Lib\x86

and similar for Additional Include Directories. But I don't have those
dirs under third_party after a gclient sync.

Are those settings obsolete?

No,
A lot of developers at Google use them, and the bots use them too.

If the bots use them and they work correctly, it'd be nice to have all
our deps sync automatically and not require everyone to install random
things per manual instructions. Is there some reason that's not the
default behaviour?

Because we're not allowed to redistribute the Microsoft Platform SDK and DirectX SDK.
