I am planning to participate in chromium through this project https://docs.google.com/document/d/12MtsR_5jb6hqyBPKY2xhrGTbfK88tJ6syKeIWTpt6-4/edit# in gsoc and thus I tried building up chromium but it seems 100 GB of space is not enough to build it on my m1 mac. So, what should I do?
I am getting this in error message while using this command: autoninja -C out/Default chrome.

fatal error: error in backend: IO failure on output stream: No space left on device

Is there any way I can still go on participating with my device only?

If you don't want to get a bigger hard disk, you could try setting
is_debug=false in args.gn, or symbol_level=0, those should help with
disk space.

You can try and disable symbols:

That said, 100 GB isn't much for working on Chromium, including the source checkout and dependencies.

You can just try to clone required branch or tag rather than cloning full history. I've clean - not compiled repos on my machine and full history repo shows 59 GB vs the one where I cloned just a git tag shows 5.6G.
