is gtk2 build supported?

I know gtk3 is now default. Is gtk2 still supported and supposed to work?

The context for this is https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=625718#c5, and I also reproduced this compile issue on Gentoo.

The error is that gtk_widget_get_scale_factor is not defined. There might be more once we get past that error.

It's not officially maintained any more.  We would likely accept bugfixes, but not features.
