Can document.cookie api marked as deprecated?

There is asynchronous CookieStore API as a replacement, to avoid main thread jank when calling  synchronous document.cookie API.  Is that possible to mark it as depericated?

I have contributed to whatwg and mdn content to a note to warn developers not to use document.cookie.
