I am using a Macbook Pro with following specification.

When I use my Safari browser to watch Youtube Videos my cpu stays cool but when I use chrome I always recognise that my Macbook is getting really hot (hardware acceleration is turned on).

I know there is a plugin out there (h264ify) which is forcing the browser to use h.264 but this problem should be fixed at the root cause.

Also websites with multiple iframes uses too much cpu. I don't think that this is a good behaviour.

I thank you in advance for an answer.

If you update to macOS Big Sur you'll get hardware decoding for these videos.

I see the same. It's likely because it's using AV1 decoding for which there is no hardware support.
