Hello Chromium devs,

If you don’t develop any Python code in Chromium, you can stop reading here.

We are announcing that the solution built in cr/40874143 has matured enough to be enabled for the entire Chromium source code. After some time, a large-scale change will update Python formatting throughout Chromium to comply with unified Ruff standards. You can also install and use the Ruff extension in VSCode or other editors of your choice, however we recommend using git cl format proactively during this transition period while YAPF (legacy formatter) is still around.

No action is required from you, the onboarding process will be done for you through LSC. However, if presubmits fail for any reason later, or if tooling doesn’t work, please reach out in cr/40874143.

Thanks!
