Hi,

Google webkit speech api is not working in Electron app but works fine in standard browser environments. It throws 'network' error under every circumstances which I've tested. This is happening only for the past few weeks as it was working fine previously. Could you update me on this issue? (whether google had deprecated the use of speech api in electron)

Thanks in advance,
Nirmal

Have you tried asking the Electron authors?

Still seeing this in 2025. Did the OP hear back from electron team?

The last time I checked webkitSpeechRecognition makes a network request to remote servers including an API key after recording the users' voice. Technically it's possible to make the network request to the Google server with the API key outside of Chrome.
