Feature Request: Enable Opening New Tabs Adjacent to the Current Tab

I've submitted a feature request for adding an option to open new tabs next to the current one:

That capability is already possible using an extension with tabs permission.

It is. But having it natively would be a really good idea. Using a separate extension can be a privacy risk too. Also, these are a very common UX that can improve a user's productivity by gazillions of time.
