Chromium 140 - Position Builds are Crazy

I missed Chrome 140 by about four days and I'm required to test every version of a rendering engine (not browsers) so effectively: Blink 140.

Apparently no one bothered to archive Chrome 140. I came across talks about release builds of Chromium, okay great. So that eventually led me to the convoluted mess about position numbers. However I can't find anything except Chromium 141 or 83 and nothing in between. I've spent two hours trying to derive position numbers from Chrome version releases for developers (nothing there) and the Chromium git, nothing there either that I can determine. Then, once I have a position number (that, again, I can't determine) I'm supposed to look it up on https://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/chromium-browser-snapshots/index.html?prefix=Win/ which is fine and that is where I managed to get Chromium 83 and 141. However there are absolutely no dates on the index and sorting hundreds (or thousands) of builds makes absolutely no chronological sense.

I just need to spend five minutes with Chrome 140 or equivalent Chromium build for 64 bit Windows. Could someone please provide some guidance for determining where the binary ZIP files are?

Re: your original question - you can lookup the commit position number from https://chromiumdash.appspot.com/releases?platform=Windows. For M140, it's 1496484. Then you can download that build from the storage bucket link you posted (you might want to look at the Win_x64 bucket to get the 64-bit build). Note that the Chromium builds won't contain any commits that were cherry-picked onto M140 after the branch was cut, so don't rely on it to get exact matching behavior to the M140 Chrome release.

However, what you probably want to do is get the "Chrome for Testing" builds as described here: https://developer.chrome.com/blog/chrome-for-testing/ - again you can look at the exact release versions via the above chromiumdash link.
