I compiled latest Source code to generate ContentShell.apk for android. The Youtube video plays well in Full Screen but not in the regular window.
I even built ContentShell.apk for Google TV, that also has the same problem.

Any pointer would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Did you get any error in your logcat ? in what device are you running it on ?. I've use mostly the ChromiumTestShell.apk and successfully play videos from Youtube on Nexus 7 device.

Cheers

Nanik,

I am trying to build Chromium for Android TV. There are no crashes observed in logcat, only error I could find is
E/chromium( 5688): [5688:5701:0930/061457:12978590183:ERROR:webmediaplayer_android.cc(381)] Not implemented reached in virtual void content::WebMediaPlayerAndroid::setRate(double)

I read in some other thread that there exist a Hole Punching issues which causes the video not to be displayed on regular window of Youtube. Guess its the same problem. But am not able to find a solution for it.

Regards,
Kevin

What video are you trying to play? I think YouTube enters fullscreen intentionally on phones since the screen size is too small to play embedded. Can you try on a tablet (e.g. Nexus 7)?

Hole punching you mentioned is only for encrypted video played using EME.

Hey Anton,

Am trying to build Chromium for Google TV. And I know the hole punching issue is actually for encrypted contents like that in Netflix etc. But when I try to play any video on Youtube using Chrome Browser, I don't see the video on my regular window but in Full screen it works without a glitch.

Since the Youtube contents are clear streams I expect it to play in regular window also. But for some reason it doesn't.
