Hi All,

I've been trying to debug an issue that I can only reproduce using iPhone with the Edge browser. Since Edge doesn't support iPhone remote debugging ( Remotely debug Android devices - Microsoft Edge Development | Microsoft Learn), I've been using edge://inspect  directly on my phone and using the Start Logging feature. The edge://inspect inherits the code from the upstream Chromium project (chrome://inspect for Chrome).

This is great for seeing console.log/debug/error() logs from the tabs on my phone for that browser, but it does not show non-console.log errors like we can see in the console window of a browser.

Is there any way to enable this? Or do a feature request to allow more than just the JavaScript console.log/debug/error() to appear in the logs when using the Start logging feature on mobile?

Please let me know if there is a better place to post this question.

Kind regards,
Sam Taylor

When you say you can only reproduce this using Edge on iPhone, does this mean you can't reproduce it on Chrome on iPhone?

Glad to hear it! I guess Edge folks would appreciate a bug report if the debugging doesn't work with Edge specifically; not sure how you do that, though.

Yes, the current issue I’m trying to debug is not reproducible on Safari. I overlooked trying on Chrome originally since we couldn’t access the site outside of our corporate network without being logged in. After using ngrok with localhost right now I was able to validate it is also an issue on Chrome. Which makes sense since they are both built on chromium.

Now that I’ve reproduced it on Chrome I should be able to use the browser remote debugging!

Thank you for your help!

Sounds like this might be crbug.com/584905, then. Unfortunately, this seems like this might be a limitation of WKWebView on iOS.

The debugging with Edge is the same as Chrome where only the output from console.log/error/debug() is outputted in the Start Logging mobile feature for chrome://inspect.

Errors, Exceptions, or Lighthouse suggestions do not show up in the Start Logging log. I just tried remote debugging for Chrome and iOS but it is also not supported so my originally issue is still a problem. (

Is there a way to get all console output like what we would see on a desktop browser when using the Start Logging feature on Mobile?

Sorry for the false positive in the last message!
