to Chromium-dev
To Chrome Linux Team:
My previous version of Chrome kept yelling at me about needing an upgrade. So on March 15 I followed my nose via the old version's Help menu to "google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb" and installed it using Ubuntu's "dpkg". In so doing I eluded "apt" enforcement of package dependencies, specifically in regard to "libu2f-udev", which is not available for Ubuntu 16.04.7 LTS.
I noticed, however, there seemed to be no unsatisfied runtime library links. And 111.0.5563.64-1 has been running for me these past 8 days. My guess is that the "libu2f-udev" must not be truly required, but, rather, should be shown in the package manager as a suggestion. If that were done, then my "apt" would be happy. On the other hand, if "libu2f-udev" is truly required, I'd like to inquire whether it would be difficult for you to supply it with chrome. My impression is that I am not the only one hanging on to Ubuntu 16.04 for now.
Many thanks.
