I have a strange issue with my regular Chrome installation where some images will appear corrupted. It seems that Chrome will download the image with some corrupted bytes. For example, this is how image #1 normally appears: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4sIRE0dqvsibHdVdWp0enBGUG8&authuser=0

This image is originally from http://i.imgur.com/XgtJTMj.jpg. Refreshing the page does not help, the image still appears corrupted. However if I empty the cache (with clear browsing data), the image appears normally. However the symptoms eventually start showing up again. It does not seem to be caused by browser extensions since it still happens even after I disable all extensions.

I noticed an interesting pattern between the original image and the corrupt one. In bytes #82242, 82246, 82249, 145523, 145528, 145530, 333782, 333787, 333789 where they differ, they are off by 1 bit (e.g., 0xFF vs 0xFE). Not sure if this means anything.

Unfortunately I am not able to reproduce this issue in Chromium so far. Does anyone have any tips on how I can investigate further?

Thanks,
Steven

Do you have an antivirus or are you behind a company firewall? Some of them sometimes mess with the network packets and ruin the content in some cases.

The only antivirus I have is Windows Defender. I tried disabling it but the issue is still there. I'm at home so no firewall. The issue does not appear in any other browser.

If this is still happening, could you file a bug
(http://crbug.com/new), include a network internals stack trace (see
http://dev.chromium.org/for-testers/providing-network-details) and cc
me or send me the bug number?
