Dear Chromium Security Team,
I am a member of the team from Xperi/DTS and we have been contributing to Chromium to support DTS audio on multiple platforms(refhttps://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1270685). We have been generously helped by the reviewers at Google/Chromium, and as a result multiple CL's have been submitted to Gerrit and merged into the mainline. DTS audio support broadly refers to enabling the Chromium media pipeline to recognize DTS audio streams and passing the DTS frames along until it reaches an underlying DTS decoder that is provided by the device's platform or is passed through to the connected audio-sink device. DTS contributions have mostly been wrapped within DTS specific build flags and are not yet enabled in the official Chrome release (and other derived browsers from the Chromium project).
The team at Xperi/DTS would like to enable DTS support under the control of a feature flag (and remove DTS Build flag accordingly), so that DTS audio support for each platform can progressively become part of Chrome over the course of the upcoming official releases. We are eager to work with your team and would really appreciate if we can be put in touch with a Google PM, who could guide us through this process. Thanks so much for your attention and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind Regards,
Douglas Wong
