hi folks!

For the last several months, we used Google speech recognition api for our product which has been worked nicely.

But all of sudden, the speech recognition stopped its working.

It seems to be a api key issue.

Does anybody know how we can get official api key(license) from google which allows unlimited calls per a day?
(Developer API Key only allows 50 calls per a day)

Any tips and help will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey,

you can buy additional quota for APIs that have a "pricing" link on http://developers.google.com/console

If there is no such link, then the API is not available for non-development use.

Note that developer API keys must not be distributed or shared with other users.

By the chance, weren't you using the --speech-service-key command line flag, were you?
I removed that in crrev.com/189603005 6 weeks ago. That switch was meant to be for initial debugging only 2 years ago and then was forgotten in place. It was recently removed during a recent global chrome switches cleanup.
In the contrary case, switch to the standard API keys approach described in http://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/api-keys.

Hi there!!

I want light usage of the speech recognition api.... Do you know how can get the API key? I cannot find the API on my developer's console lest I would have enabled it from there.

Please read the top of https://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/api-keys where it says that API keys are only for Chromium development and not to ask questions on this list.

No. The speech API can only be used for Chrome development. See the
message at the top of
https://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/api-keys

Of course if you want to use the Web speech API that's different,
there's no limit to that, can be used for anything.
