Hi everyone,

When typed '~' in url bar, browser cache file path gets displayed and you can't access it even on android 7.
I want to know
(1) what is the use case behind showing browser cache file path when typing '~' in url bar.
(2) is it a bug?

Please refer attached screenshots for reference.

Thanks for the help

It looks like Chrome assumes you meant a filename by `~`, similar to how we consider entries starting with `/` to be filenames by default. I agree it looks a little confusing.

You should file a bug on https://crbug.com and set the component to UI>Browser>Omnibox to have the right people look at it (feel free to CC me).

Cheers!
