Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to http://urduweb.org/mehfil (or https://jsfiddle.net/8sb1w706/ , or
http://cricnama.com).

What is the expected behavior?
Urdu text set in Alvi Lahori Nastaleeq and Jameel Noori Nastaleeq should
display in those fonts and not in the fallback fonts.

What went wrong?
Text set in Alvi Lahori Nastaleeq and Jameel Noori Nastaleeq fonts is
rendered using fallback fonts.

(Firefox and IE11 show the respective text correctly. For comparison,
screenshots of Chrome and Firefox are attached.)

Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes

Is it a problem with a plugin? No

Did this work before? Yes The issue was first observed in 41.0.2272.101.
Not sure if that's when the regression happened. Version 37 of Chrome (the
first where DirectWrite was employed) *did* show the fonts correctly.

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 41.0.2272.118 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0

If the use of DirectWrite is disabled (by going to chrome://flags), then
this issue vanishes; so probably something related to the use of
DirectWrite.

I can also reproduce this issue. See the attachment.
Note: Fonts not rendering correctly are fallback fonts, and are marked with
rectangle in red.

Hmm, Urdu Emad Nastaleeq (
http://fonts.urduweb.org/ufonts/ttf/urdu-emad-nastaleeq-regular-1.ttf )
have just 203kb and don't work (as #5 indicates) but IranNastaliq (
http://www.scict.ir/portal/File/ShowFile.aspx?ID=5624fa86-e0d3-4f09-a68c-6d8998773265
) is 1.15MB and works.

Not quite of course :-) Font cache is the only major difference DW and GDI
path have for fonts (as far as I know) and I can just guess bisect would
indicate something related but I also just guess bisect info would help.
Also I think there is chance that this affected some other fonts issue
filed on the other bugs.
